Cookie Policy

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “SeaWorld” or “we” or “us”) (and third party service providers acting on our behalf or on their own behalf) use cookies and similar technologies to process data about you when you visit our websites (the “Sites”) and mobile device applications (our “apps”).

Cookies are small files that store information on your computer hard drive or browser that that enable certain features and functionality, such as SeaWorld’s Site can recognize whether or not you have visited our Site before. We use the information gathered by cookies and similar technologies to improve our products and your experience on our websites by evaluating the use of our website, products and services, to personalize content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyze our traffic. Cookies also help us analyze use of our site, and better aggregate useful information when site users provide feedback about our sites or parks.  We also share the information about your use of our website gathered by cookies and similar technologies with our social media, advertising, testing and analytics service providers. 

When you visit one of our Sites or use one of our apps, we may automatically collect certain information from your computer or mobile device, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), your IP address, the web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome and Firefox), UDID (for mobile devices), information about the websites visited before and after visiting our website, the web pages and advertisements viewed and links clicked on within our sites, interactions with e-mail messages sent by our websites or companies (e.g., links clicked on and whether the messages were opened or forwarded), information collected through the use of unique identifiers such as cookie, information regarding the Internet service provider, and other standard server log information.

Specifically, we have detailed below the information that we collect through the cookies and similar technologies on our Sites and our apps and how long we retain this information.

Page Information, which is retained for no more than 1 week:

• URL – the URL of the page you are viewing and
• Title – the title of the page you are viewing.

Browser Information, which is retained for no more than 1 week:

• Browser name – the type of browser you are using;
• Viewport or Viewing pane – the size of the browser window you are using;
• Screen resolution – the resolution of your screen;
• Java enabled – whether or not you have Java enabled; and
• Flash version – what version of Flash you are using.

User Information, which is retained for no more than 1 week:

•  Location – this is derived from the IP address where the hit originated (please note that the IP address itself is not available or retained); and
• Language – derived from the language settings of your browser.

Location/Tracking Information, which is retained for no more than 1 week:

In addition, when you visit one of our Sites or use our apps, we collect, process, and track your actual location.  To accomplish this, we may use various tracking technologies, including, without limitation, IP address, GPS data and other sensors or technologies.  We use this location information to provide you with better information about our parks and to provide you with the location of, and directions to, particular attractions or services within our parks.

We also employ various different advertising or remarketing tools, technologies and services that serve you targeted advertisements to make your online experience more focused to your interests.  These tools, technologies and services, which include DoubleClick cookies and analytics, advertising and tag management software, collect and analyze certain types of information, including cookies, IP addresses, device and software identifiers, referring and exit URLs, onsite behavior and usage information, feature use metrics and statistics, usage and purchase history, MAC Address, mobile unique device ID, and other similar information.

Remarketing allows us to serve you with an advertisement when you visit other websites after having visited one of our websites.  This means that websites that are not controlled by us, including Google, will show our ads when you visit their websites.  It also means that other advertisers, including Google, will show their advertisements on our Sites.  You may opt-out of these advertisements at the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page (http://optout.networkadvertising.org). You may still receive generic advertisements.

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in their web browsers.  Our Site does not support DNT codes, but our Site limits tracking to the internal uses described above.  Except in the case of analytics cookies, remarketing and other features of advertising described above, our Site does not track your use across multiple websites, however, other websites to which we link may.  We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. Also, if you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising, please visit http://optout.networkadvertising.org (or if you are in the European Union, http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/). Please note that you may continue to receive generic ads.

It is possible to disable cookies, including those used on our Site, by simply disabling cookies in your browser and still use our Site. However, it is possible that some portions of our Sites will not function properly or may perform more slowly if you choose to reject cookies.  Remember also that disabling cookies is browser specific.  If you log on using Internet Explorer and disable the cookies, you must also disable cookies in Safari if you use that browser at a different time.
