The Ride Accessibility Program (RAP) is designed to allow guests to fully participate and enjoy our parks while keeping in mind the safety requirements of our rides and attractions.
When enrolled in our RAP, guests may participate in our Special Access Program. This program allows guests to:
Access an alternative entrance of some attractions where queue lines may not be accessible to guests who rely on mobility devices.
For more information on our parks' accessibility and services, please review our Accessibility Guide, and visit the Welcome Center. Our Ambassadors are happy to assist you with any questions.
When enrolled in our Ride Accessibility Program (RAP), guests will have the opportunity to also participate in our Special Access Program.
This program helps provide additional assistance for guests with disabilities. Some attractions have an alternative entrance for guests who may not be able to enter through our regular ride entrances.
We offer an online Accessibility Guide for guest convenience and planning prior to their visit.
If you are in the park, you can visit the Welcome Center, which is located in the park to the left of the front gate.
All of our restrooms include wheelchair-accessible locations throughout the park, and are clearly marked with the International Symbol of Access (Wheelchair Symbol).
Companion restroom facilities are also available for guests using mobility devices, who may need additional space or help from a caregiver.
These restrooms are located in First Aid and next to our Low Sensory Room by Big Bird’s Rambling River. Review our Accessibility Guide.
Please see the Welcome Center (just past the turnstiles on the left-hand side) if you have any questions or need additional assistance.
Trained service animals are welcome at Sesame Place Philadelphia. Please note the following policies while at our theme park:
• Service animals must be on a leash/harness and under the control of their handler at all times. If at any time your service animal’s behavior is out of control, you will be asked to remove them from the premises.
• They must be accompanied by their handler or another party member at all times.
• Service animals must be house broken.
• Handlers are responsible for taking their service animal to the appropriate relief area and of all waste cleanup.
• Service animals should remain a reasonable distance from our resident animals.
Sesame Place Philadelphia Ambassadors are not permitted to care for service animals. Review our Accessibility Guide for more information.
NOTE: Comfort and emotional support animals are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The ADA defines service animals as dogs or miniature horses “that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities."
While dining at our restaurants, please be away that most venues offer a pay first and pick up second style service. Elevators are available at locations to access seating upstairs and special assistance is available upon request.
Review our Accessibility Guide for more information.
Our theaters provide accessible seating that can accommodate guests who need additional assistance or are using mobility devices.
Please see an Ambassador in the park for assistance or review our Accessibility Guide for entrance locations and seating information.
If you need assistance during your visit, we can provide park guidance. We encourage you to request this service at least 14 business days prior to your visit. Please contact us by calling 215-741-5310 or by emailing [email protected]
Every effort will be made to provide guidance with less than two (2) weeks’ notice, depending on the availability of Ambassadors. Guests requesting this service will be contacted prior to their visit and specified guide times will be confirmed. The guide will be provided for the first two (2) hours of your visit.
Guests who are blind or have limited/low vision must have someone (either a companion or Ambassador) read the ride instructions prior to boarding.
Review our Accessibility Guide for more information regarding additional assistance, including vision supporting service animals.
Guests with casts or braces may be restricted from some attractions due to safety concerns for all riders.
Please visit the Welcome Center for more information or if in doubt about your ability to safely experience a ride.
You may also review our Accessibility Guide, which provides rider requirements and additional information regarding individual attractions.
Guests with any type of prosthesis or amputation should visit the Welcome Center to enroll in our RAP to help determine which rides they can enjoy.
You may also review our Accessibility Guide prior to your visit, which provides rider requirements and additional information regarding individual attractions.
Due to the dynamics and certain characteristics of the rides, oxygen tanks are not permitted on any ride. Oxygen tanks are permitted in theaters, exhibits, and other enclosed facilities. Oxygen Concentrators may be permitted on certain rides as long as they can be secured and meet the loose article requirements for the particular ride. BEFORE EXPERIENCING AN ATTRACTION, PLEASE NOTE ALL SAFETY WARNINGS BOTH VERBAL AND WRITTEN FOR EACH RIDE.
Anyone can choose to wear the Sunflower, regardless of their disability. There is no qualifying list of disabilities. If you have a hidden disability and feel that you would benefit from wearing a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower product, please do so.
Guests can request a complimentary Hidden Disabilities Sunflower-branded wristband inside the park at designated locations when the program launches in 2025.
No. The Sunflower wristband at Sesame Place Philadelphia will be complimentary for those who request one.
The Sunflower wristband signals to Ambassadors that the wearer has a non-visible disability and may need a little extra time, understanding, patience, or assistance. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program complements existing Accessibility Programs & Services at Sesame Place but does not offer any additional advantages or services.
Guests who qualify may enroll separately in the park’s existing Ride Access Program. For more information about Sesame Place’s accessibility programs, including the Ride Accessibility Program, please visit our Accessibility page.
There is no qualifying list of invisible disabilities – you simply choose to wear a Sunflower-branded wristband to indicate that you may need additional support, help, or simply a little more time.
You may find that people around you may ask what they can do to assist you, and you or your carer can use your Hidden Disabilities Sunflower-branded wristband to tell people who are aware of the Sunflower program about the additional help you may need.
Guests are not required to disclose any personal information when requesting a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower wristband. The program is entirely voluntary, allowing guests to participate if they feel comfortable in doing so.
Guests who request a Sunflower wristband are welcome to keep the wristband and utilize it any place where the Sunflower is recognized: https://hdsunflower.com/us/find-the-sunflower
