Q: What should we bring with us?
A: Some Suggestions include: Sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas, toothbrush/toothpaste, soap, hand towel, hairbrush and change of clothes and swim suit for your second day visit. You might also want to bring a camera to take pictures of your friends with all the stars of Sesame Street. Mr. Hooper’s Emporium will be open in the morning, bring some additional money if you plan on doing some shopping.
Q: What should I leave at home?
A: We ask that you do not bring radios, walkmans or IPods, glass bottles, or hair dryers. Please leave anything valuable at home. Showers are not available at Camp Sesame. Please do not bring inflatable mattresses.
Q: Do we need to bring any supplies for our workshops?
A: We will supply everything for you! But we do recommend that scouts bring photos to use during our craft workshop. This will allow scouts to personalize their project as much as possible! Photos are not required and projects can be completed without them.
Q: What if we arrive late or need to leave early?
A: Camp Sesame Registration begins promptly at 6:30pm. We ask that you arrive on time, to ensure that you will not miss dinner. We ask that you notify us in advance if anyone will be arriving later than 6:30 or will be leaving earlier than 9:00am the next morning. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can make proper arrangements for the campers. Once onsite at Camp Sesame we ask that all parents and kids remain onsite for the entire program,
Q: Will there be a nurse or security on duty?
A: Yes, Sesame Place will have Security AND Medical personnel on duty for the entire sleepover. In addition we will have members of our special events staff on duty the entire evening.
Q: Where will we sleep?
A: Sesame Place will assign sleeping locations to each troop. You will be assigned to one of our indoor buildings at registration. All buildings are carpeted and completely indoor, but don’t forget you sleeping gear! Sorry, Sesame Place cannot take requests for specific sleeping locations; they are assigned randomly based on capacity.
Q: Are the water rides open?
A: Water rides are not available during the evening of Camp Sesame. Every ride and attraction will be open the next day for the scouts to enjoy.
Q: Can siblings or other relatives attend Camp Sesame?
A: Although Camp Sesame is designed for scouts and leaders, Sesame Place leaves the right to each individual troop leader to make this decision. Friends and family members are welcome to come and spend the 2nd day in the park with you at a discounted group rate. Just add the number of 2nd day tickets needed to your order by calling 215-752-7070 ext. 222. Add on guests will not be permitted in the park until the official opening time. Although additional chaperones may attend, we strongly urge your group to stay away from a 1:1 chaperone ration.
Q: Is Camp Sesame a Co-ed program?
A: Camp Sesame is designed for female scouts and female staff only. At this time we cannot accommodate male attendees for the sleepover portion of our event, however all are welcome to spend the 2nd day in the park with you at a discounted group rate. Q: What if it rains?
A: Camp Sesame is an indoor event, and is held rain or shine. In the case of poor weather conditions, the agenda will be altered to provide for more indoor activities. Your itinerary upon arrival will reflect any changes made to accommodate the weather conditions.
Q: What will parents do at Camp Sesame?
A: We invite all of our chaperones to join in the activities with their scout troops. Sesame Place also asks for your support in assisting with your troop members. Complimentary coffee will be available onsite during the event for chaperones.
Q: Can parents smoke at Sesame Place?
A: Sesame Place is a smoke-free environment. For those guests who want to smoke, smoking is allowed outside of the front gate only.
